Cake Smash photos {Santino}

Studio Cake Smash photos | Gates, NY | cake by Shell’s sweets

A few weeks ago Santino’s mommy and grandma brought him to our in home studio to do his first birthday cake smash photos! The session was last minute so his mommy could use the photos for his birthday invitations. There is nothing more special than a baby’s first birthday, even though they won’t remember it, its a huge milestone for mom and dad!

Santino is such a cutie!  His big brown eyes are going to get him out of a lot of trouble in his toddler years. How can you say no to that sweet little face?

The cake was, of course, made by Michelle of Shell’s sweets! We love her designs, and how reasonably priced her custom cakes are! Michelle (Santino’s mommy..I’ll call her Michelle #1) contacted me to book the session on a Monday, and needed the photos done by Thursday, luckily we were able to get the cake in time!! Michelle (Michelle #2) was super sweet to accommodate our last minute request! The cake design they loved was Alex’s from a previous cake smash session. But when Michelle #1 sent me a photo of the bow-tie Santino would be wearing, I sent it to Michelle #2 and we decided the polka dots on the first cake wouldn’t match well with the plaid bow-tie. So I told her I trust her ability to make something awesome for the cake that’ll match perfectly. And she made stars for the cake. When Michelle #1, grandma, and Santino came to the session, they brought star balloons, it couldn’t have been more perfect! Its not often that we can accommodate a last minute session, but to get a cake from Michelle #2 as well is pretty lucky! All the pieces fell into place with their session, It was meant to be!

Michelle and her mom came back for an ordering session at our home. They were both so excited with the photos. It makes my job worthwhile when I get to see your reactions to your photos, and hearing “I didn’t think you got much of any great photos because he was moving around so much.” I put every part of myself into my photography, and seeing how much you love your photos makes this all worthwhile. Thank you, Michelle, for trusting me with this incredibly special moment in your lives. It was such an honor to meet the three of you and we hope to see you again the future!
