First birthday portraits | Tinker Nature Center | Studio Cake smas | Henrietta and Gates NY
Last week, we were watching the weather closely for Cora’s first birthday portraits and cake smash this week. The weather forecast for Monday wasn’t looking great, so we ventured out last week to Tinker Nature Center in Henrietta for the outdoor portion of Cora’s first birthday portraits. Tinker is becoming one of our favorite places to photograph. There are so many cool things about the location that you just can’t get anywhere else in the area(at least not that we’ve found!) Cora is such a sweetheart! Her smile lights up the world. She’s such a special little girl! And she’s growing up far too fast!
Cora loved exploring the different paths at Tinker. She kept running down this path and coming back. It was a great game, and we were able to get some wonderful giggly shots out of her doing it!
We still did Cora’s cake smash on Monday, and that went about as well as you can guess from the photos! The cake was, of course, made by Michelle of Shell’s sweets
She touched the cake once, and then was terrified of it. Anytime she went near it she would start sobbing and getting really scared. It was slightly adorable! After trying to get her to eat the cake for a while, we let her go home and get a nap, and then tried again in the afternoon, without better results.
But, Laura got the idea of finding big suckers at party city and if Cora didn’t go for the cake, letting her have a sucker, and that turned out beautifully!
We will now be bringing these suckers to all of our cake smashes, just in case things don’t go as planned, we can still get some sticky messy photos of your little one with an extra special treat!
Thank you Lucase and Laura, for bringing Cora to the studio, and once again trusting me to capture your precious family.
